DEPAUVILLE, N.Y.
— Jean A. Riley Markanich, 70, of Caroline Street, died Sunday,
Oct. 5, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, where she was a patient since
Sept. 27.
Born Oct. 27, 1937, in Red Creek, she graduated from Red Creek High School in 1957.
She worked for National Grange, as a typist, Syracuse Stamping Company, both in Syracuse, Walton Manufacturing and National Vision, both in Georgia.
She married John Markanich while living in Georgia. A previous marriage ended in divorce.
Mrs. Markanich enjoyed reading, playing cards, shopping and visiting with her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband, John; two sons, Richard G. Riley II and his companion, Linda Kilpatrick, Atlanta,
Ga., and Kevin R. Riley, Syracuse; a daughter, P.J. “Pamela Jean” Riley Amidon, Syracuse; three step daughters and two sons-in-law, Helen “Tink” and Jeff Helmer, Clayton Center, Alice and Ron Albro, Black River, and Lynda Briggs, LaFargeville; a step son and his wife, Randy and Debbie
Markanich, Va.; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A step son, John Andrew “Little John” Markanich, died before her.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., 38422
Route 37, Theresa, with Rev. Donald Briant, Deapuville and Clayton United Methodist Churches officiating. Burial will be at Grove Cemetery,
LaFargeville. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
