Ella M. Beyette

BROWNVILLE, N.Y.  —  Ella M. Beyette, 87, of Rice Street, passed away Monday afternoon, Oct. 17, at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

The funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Brownville, with Rev. Kevin O'Brien officiating. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, town of Henderson. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.  

She was born Oct. 28, 1923, in Rodman, one of nine children to Alfred and Martha Smith Beyette.  

Ella worked for Bagley & Sewell in Watertown during World War II making ammunition for the military. During the 1950s and 1960s, she worked for the Shaughnessy Knitting Mill. Ella went to work at Faichney's Instrument of Watertown, which later became Chesebrough Ponds, as an assembler, retiring from there after many years. 

She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church of Brownville. 

Surviving are many nieces and nephews to include a nephew and his wife, who cared for her and whom she raised, William and Linda Beyette, Dexter; a niece and her husband who assisted in her care, Ruth and Steve Sullivan, Burrville; many great and great great nieces and nephews; and a sister, Judith Moss, Illinois.  

She was predeceased by a brother and six sisters.
