Jane L.
Zehr, 67, of Tannery Lane, died at her home on Tuesday, Oct.
18.
The
funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Croghan
Mennonite Church with Rev. Chad Atwood and Rev. Titus Mast
officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Calling
hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the church.
Arrangements
are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
Born April 12, 1944, at home in Croghan, a daughter of the
late Alfred and Mary Louise Kloster Herzig, she attended
Beaver River Central School.
She married Loren J. Zehr on Oct. 18, 1959, at Evangelical
United Brethren Church, Beaver Falls, with Rev. Stewart
McCleary, officiating.
She cleaned houses in the Belfort area, and worked at the
former Belfort Store.
Jane was a
member of Croghan Mennonite Church, where her and her
husband served as past trustees and was also on the funeral
luncheon committee.
She was a member of Beaver River Memorial Post #1663 Croghan
American Legion, Auxiliary.
She enjoyed
babysitting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She especially loved maple syrup season and spending time
with her family at camp. She enjoyed taking rides with
her husband and attending auctions. She looked forward
to having coffee with family and friends at the Croghan
Diner and New Bremen General Store. She enjoyed
traveling out of state to visit her sister, and her family.
Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and
friends.
Surviving are
her husband Loren, of 52 years; four children and their
spouses, Kenneth L. and Tina Zehr of Belfort, Kevin and
Tammy Zehr, Indian River, Karen L. and Ronnie Wolf, Croghan,
Kelly and Mandy Zehr, Beaver Falls; three sisters and
brothers-in-law, Linda and Blair Combs, North Port, Ala.,
Shirlean and Donald Brown, Lowville, Betty Lou and Charles
Brown, Castorland, Doug and Fern Herzig, Beaver Falls; her
mother-in-law, Mildred Zehr, Valley View Courts, Lowville;
14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces,
nephews and cousins; two sisters-in-law, and a
brother-in-law, Betty and Marvin Swartzentruber of Lowville
and Mary Jane Zehr of Beaver Falls.
Two grandsons, Justin and Joseph Zehr, two nephews, Jeff and
Keith Brown, a niece, Denise Combs and her father-in-law,
Michael Zehr, all died before her.
