WATERTOWN, N.Y. —
Derek W. Burns, 28, of Coffeen Street, passed away Friday morning,
Oct. 21, at his home.
The funeral Mass will be said noon Tuesday, Oct. 25, at St.
Anthony's Church with Rev. Steven Murray officiating. Burial
will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. There are no public
calling hours.
Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.
Born July 22, 1983, in Watertown, a son to Gary and Karen
Damon Burns, he was a 2001 graduate of Watertown High School
and continued his education at Plattsburgh State
College.
Derek was an Eagle Scout in troop 496.
He was currently working as a lab technician at his family's
business, Burns Photography, Watertown.
Derek enjoyed playing his guitar, music, art and
photography, camping at Herkimer Diamond Mines.
Surviving are his parents, Gary and Karen, Watertown; three
brothers, Dylan and Garrett, both of Burlington, Vt., and
Dalton, New York City; his grandmother, Josephine Burns,
Dexter; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the
Jefferson County SPCA or to the North Country Art Council.
