— Mary E. Yerdon, 74, of Hart
Road, died Monday at Upstate Medical University.
The funeral
will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at T.R. Jetty Funeral
Home in Clayton with Donna Fitchette officiating. Burial
will follow at the Grove Cemetery in LaFargeville. Calling
hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the funeral
home.
There will be a reception following the graveside service at
the LaFargeville American Legion.
Born Sept. 14, 1938, in the town of Orleans, the daughter
of Charles and Bertha McKinley Gillette, she attended Evans
Mills schools.
She married Wendell J. Yerdon on May 11, 1956.
Mary owned and operated Yerdon Greenhouses for many years.
She enjoyed going to flea markets, auctions, operating
several variety stores, cooking and baking.
Her greatest love was for all of her family.
Surviving besides her husband Wendell are her mother, Bertha,
Ogdensburg; four daughters, Sindy (Hal) Matthews of Clayton,
Elizabeth (Steve) Rolfe of Clayton, Tina (Colin) Mitchell of
Clayton, Virginia (Dave) Sanford of LaFargeville; four sons,
Wendell and his companion Gloria Fisher of LaFargeville,
Jeffrey (Gloria) of Oswego, Jamie (Wanda) of LaFargeville,
William and his companion Sue Herbert of Naples; 23
grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles
and Richard Gillette, both of LaFargeville; nieces and nephews.
A brother, Harold, died in 1969, and six siblings died in
infancy.
