WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Jeanne M. Ney, 67, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, at her home in Watertown.

She was born Nov. 27, 1943, in West Chester, Pa., the daughter of W. Atlee and Edith Ross Ney.

Miss Ney was a legal assistant for many years, retiring from Schwerzmann & Wise, P.C., on Jan. 1, 2009. 

She was the organist and choir director at St. Paul's Episcopal Church for 18 years, and was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and its choir. In addition, she was a volunteer reader for Literacy of Northern New York's "Read to Succeed" program.

Surviving are a brother and his wife, H. Ross and Sharon S. Ney, Baldwinsville; three nephews, Howard R. Ney, Matthew Morris, and Daniel Morris; three nieces, Mary Storrs, Amy Reade, and Megan Ransiear; five great nieces, Molly Ney, Carolyn Reade, Rebecca Reade, Olivia Ransiear, and Madelyn Ransiear; and a great nephew, Joshua Reade.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Trinity Episcopal Church. 

Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.

In place of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 425 Washington St., the Watertown Animal Hospital's Save a Life program, 1445 Washington St., or Trinity Episcopal Church Music Ministries, 227 Sherman St., all in Watertown, NY 13601.
