WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Ruth W. Raymond, 93, formerly of 983 LeRay St., died Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the home of her daughter. She was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County. 

Born Sept. 2, 1918, in Evans Mills, a daughter of Arthur and Jennie Brown Wiley, she graduated in 1936 from Evans Mills High School as valedictorian.  

She was co-owner of Raymonds Specialties for 30 years.   

She married Claude E. "Ted" VanBrocklyn in 1943.  

He passed away October 5, 1946.  

She married Gerald J. Raymond on July 5, 1950. He died Aug. 31, 1996. 

Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Claudia and Robert P. Schorr, Watertown; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  

Four sisters, Evelyn Pacella, Marion Wiley, Della Barnes, Dora Hawley; and a brother, Kenneth Wiley, all died before her. 

There are no calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held in Evans Mills Cemetery in the spring at the convenience of the family.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Jefferson County, 425 Washington St., Watertown, NY 13601.
