HARRISVILLE, N.Y. — Evelyn R.
Seymour, 91, formerly of Harrisville, died Thursday evening,
Oct. 25, at Country Manor Nursing Home, Carthage, where she
had resided since November 2009.
funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at
Adirondack Funeral Home, State Street, Harrisville, with
Rev. Frances Hemstreet, pastor of the Harrisville Methodist
Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Harrisville
Community Cemetery. Calling hours will be held 6 to 9 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 1, at the funeral home.
Born April 29, 1921, in Harrisville, the daughter of James and
Doris Wilder Burke, she graduated from Harrisville High
School. She attended the Utica Business School.
She married Howard Seymour on Sept. 28, 1946, in
Harrisville. He died March 10, 2004.
Prior to her marriage she she was employed at Savage Arms in
Utica during World War II and then returned to Harrisville
and was employed at St. Regis Paper Company.
After her marriage she worked at various locations as a cook
retiring as the cook at the Lewis County mealsite at Harris
camping, traveling to Florida in the winter and spending
time at her camp on Upper Saranac Lake.
She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Larry and Diane,
Providence, Utah, James and Anna and Darrell and Crystal,
all of Harrisville; a daughter and her husband, Bethany and
Leo Theiser, Deer River; a sister-in-law, Beverly, Sun City,
Arizona; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren;
nieces, nephews and cousins.

brothers and a sister in law, Richard, and Robert and Helen.
