Frances B. Chartrand

CARTHAGE, N.Y.  —  Frances B. Chartrand, 87, formerly of Carthage, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, where she had been a patient for a few days. 

Born Dec. 26, 1923 in Deferiet to Frank and Anna Delhoney Sarama, she attended school in Deferiet. 

She married Carl David Meyer, and he died in 1946. She later married Francis Chartrand. The marriage ended in divorce.

Frances worked as a retail Clerk and retired from SteinBach Department Store.

She enjoyed doing puzzles, crafts, reading, knitting and crocheting. 

Surviving are two sons, Carl D. Chartrand and his companion, Debra Kaiser, Black River, and Christopher P. and his companion, Lori Krupp, Carthage; two daughters, Cecilia and her husband, Thomas Perkins, Sackets Harbor; and Cynthia and her husband, Thomas Kopp, West Virginia; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Cleveland Funeral Home, 404 Sherman St., Watertown. A funeral Mass will be said 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church in Watertown, with the Rev. Richard Kennedy, officiating. Burial will follow in North Watertown Cemetery in Watertown. 

Arrangements are being handled with Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 500 State St., Carthage.
