Carol M. Farnham

LOWVILLE, N.Y.  —  Carol McBain Farnham, 57, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 26, at the home of her sister, Patricia Babcock of the East Martinsburg Road, under the care of her family, friends and Lewis County Hospice.

Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, and Friday, Oct. 28, at Sundquist Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the funeral home
with Rev. Evan Zehr officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden. 

Born June 21, 1954, in Lowville, the daughter of the late Ralph D. and Virginia A. Binninger McBain, she attended school at Lowville Academy and in Albion, N.Y. 

In the past, she worked for Steak-n-Brew and was a home caregiver for Mrs. Isabelle Farney and Charles Watson.   

Carol loved spending time with her grandkids, her dog, Jezabel, her computer, cooking for her family and helping others. 

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Karen A. and John Lawrence of Port Leyden; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom E. and Jill McBain of Lowville; her five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Barbara and Daniel LaBarge of Holly; Patricia and John Babcock of Lowville; Kathy McBain of Albion; Christine and Robert Baslow of Greig; Valerie and Ralph Sterling of Pt. Rock; two brothers and a sister-in-law, James D. McBain and his companion Sandy of Copenhagen; Michael J. and Darla McBain of Albion; six grandchildren, Cheyenne, Jennifer, Joey, Kyle, Jesse and Ethan; her aunt; and several nieces and nephews. 

Two sisters, Karen McBain, Charlene McBain Brown, and a brother, Ralph McBain, all died before her. 

The funeral will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Sundquist Funeral Home, with Rev. Evan Zehr officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden.
