CLAYTON, N.Y.
— Heidi A. Loy, 50, of Clayton, died Thursday,
Oct. 27, at home under the care of her family and Hospice of
Jefferson County.
Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc.,
Clayton. The funeral Mass will be said 11 a.m. Wednesday,
Nov. 2, at St. Mary's Church with Rev. Arthur LaBaff officiating, with burial following in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Born Feb. 26, 1961, in Springville, the daughter of Hermann R. and Betty M. Calhoun
Altenfelder, she graduated from T. I. High School, received her
bachelor's degree. in physical education from Western State College, Gunnison,
Colo., and her master's degree in education from Potsdam State.
She married John V. Loy on Sept. 5, 1998, in Alexandria Bay.
Mrs. Loy had been a substitute teacher in multiple school districts, including Indian River and Clayton schools. She was presently the owner and operator of Rainbow Shores Trailer Park, Clayton.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
She was an avid skier, snowshoer, biker, and mountain biker. Heidi loved her dogs, Lola and Lilly.
Surviving are her husband; her mother, Betty M. Calhoun Altenfelder, Clayton;
a sister and her husband, Lori M. and Edward T. Loy, Clayton;
a brother, Marcel G. Altenfelder, Alexandria Bay; several nieces and nephews, including Nicholas
Andress; and her godson, Mason Rogers
Her father, Hermann "Hermi", died Sept. 1, 2011, and her brother, Hermann "Hermi" Jr., died
May 13, 2001.
