Dorothy Winn

CLAYTON, N.Y.  —  Dorothy Winn, 96, formerly of Clayton and Watertown, died Thursday at Lewis County General Hospital Nursing Facility, Lowville, where she resided for the last year and a half.

The graveside committal service will be noon Thursday, Nov. 10, in Grove Cemetery in LaFargeville. There will be no calling hours. 

Born April 23, 1915, in the town of Clayton, the daughter of Clay and Emma Hill Blanchard, she graduated from area schools. 

She married Robert L. Winn on Sept. 3, 1934, in Depauville. Mr. Winn died in 1963.

She worked for Hawns Knitting Mill and Bromax Manufacturing in Watertown. 

Dorothy enjoyed baking, and her specialty was Wedding Cakes. She was a past Matron of the Eastern Star. 

Surviving are a son and his wife, Robert and Jean, Clayton; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. 

A brother, Richard Blanchard, and two sisters, Ruth Alton and Gladys Ellsworth, predeceased her. 

Donations can be made in her name to the Lewis County General Hospital Nursing Homes Activities Fund 7785 North State St. Lowville NY 13367.
