Beatrice J. Burnup

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Beatrice J. Burnup, 76, of Route 283, died suddenly Tuesday at the Samaritan Medical Center.

She was born June 8, 1935, in Theresa, a daughter of James and Lillian Bacon MacAvoy.  

She married Frederick Burnup on June 13, 1953, at the Burnup family home in the town of Pamelia.

Surviving besides her husband of 57 years are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Peggy Burnup, Watertown, Candy and Samuel Briggs, Watertown, and Jill and Jim Leach, Chaumont; two grandchildren Wayne Briggs and Nicole Washer. both of Watertown; four great-grandchildren, Marriah, Vincent, Nico and Gio; a brother and his wife, John and Holly MacAvoy, Carthage; two sisters Edith Leddy, Great Bend, and Flossie Edmunds, Tylerville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.
