Ed was the first born to Amos and Leona Zehr Lyndaker on July 15, 1941 in Croghan. He received his education at Beaver River Central School.

He married Marilyn Moshier on May 2, 1964, at the Croghan Mennonite Church with the Rev. Richard Zehr officiating.

In the late 1960s, Ed took over the carpentry business from his father. He purchased the family sugarbush in 1994 which is still family owned and operated today despite the devastation of the  1995 Microburst that destroyed 80% of it.

He was a long serving member of the Board of Directors of Brookside Senior Living Community and served in that capacity until the time of his death. He served on various committees at church and was the lead carpenter on the expansion  of the Croghan Mennonite Church.

He enjoyed playing  games, travelling,  supporting his children and grandchildren in their school activities and sporting events. He was always happiest at the family sugarbush, enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He also enjoyed the annual reunions of his 1-W service.

He is survived by his wife of Croghan, two sons, Eric, Croghan and Jeffrey and Deborah (Danehy), Canton; three grandsons, Nicholas, Nathan and Zachary, Canton; seven siblings and their spouses Margaret and Gordon Widrick, Daniel and Lois, David and Anita, Joseph and Brenda, Michael and Sally, all of Croghan, Edith and Herbert Yousey, Castorland, and Rosanna and William Dean, Cleveland, Tennessee; his mother in law, Mildred Moshier; a brother-in-law and his wife, Duane and Lisa Moshier; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and James Zehr, all of Croghan; an uncle and aunt, Anthony and Arlene Zehr, Croghan, and two aunts Arletha Bender Yoder, and Fanny Lyndaker, both of Lowville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
