LOWVILLE, N.Y.  —  William C.  “Bill” Higby, 68, formerly of  S. State Street, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, in Lake Katrine, New York. 

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at The Bethel Church of Nazarene, with Rev. James Trainham, assistant pastor, officiating.

Born May 17, 1943, in  Lowville, the son of the late Dr. Willard C. and Marion E. Cummings Higby, he graduated in 1961 from Lowville Academy Central School. 

Bill enjoyed his daily walks with his dog Missy.  

He was a member of the Bethel Church Of Nazarene. 

Surviving are a brother and his wife, Dr. Richard F. and Vie Higby, Croghan; a nephew, William A.Higby, Philadelphia; an uncle and his wife, Richard and Phyllis Cummings, Glenfield; and his cousins. 

A niece, Christine Higby, died before him. 

Burial in Turin Cemetery will be at a later date.
