MARTINSBURG, N.Y. — Michael A. Widrick, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 2, 2009, at his daughter’s residence in Florida.
Born July 26, 1953, in Lowville, a son of the late Andrew M. and Armelda M. Hopseker Widrick, Mike was graduated from Lowville Academy. He later owned and operated the dairy farm where he grew up in Martinsburg for many years.
He married Marlene A. Cyr on June 18, 1977.
Mike was a devoted and loving grandfather helping his daughter and very much enjoyed his dogs. His favorite pastimes were playing golf, playing cards with his friends and bowling.
He is survived by his three children, Travis Michael Widrick of Buffalo, Heather Widrick Mains of Orange Park,
Fla., and Joshua Tyler Widrick, Lowville; three brothers, Stanley M. and Susan,
Fairport, Larry R. and Suzanne, Martinsburg, and John E. and Janet,
Glenfield; his two sisters, Gladys and Gerald Der of Lowville, and Jodi and Thomas Meadows of Powhatan,
Va.; two granddaughters, Haley Alexis and Madison Helena Mains and several nieces and nephews.
His sister, Robin Anne Widrick, died before him.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Bethel Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Keith Hardy, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow
in Martinsburg Cemetery.
Family and friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday,
Nov. 6, at the Sundquist Funeral Home.
In honor of his love for dogs, memorials may be made in Michael’s name to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Glenfield, NY 13343.
