Edmond James "Tink" Howland, 52, of 92 Riverside
Dr. died Thursday evening, Nov. 3, at home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Born Dec. 11, 1958, a son of Edmond "Sonny" and Rosemary Gill Howland, he was raised by Edmond Howland and Marquita Copley. He graduated from Carthage High
School and served in the United States Military 82nd Airborne.
He participated in Watertown Little Theatre. He was a local
ventriloguist, which featured, “Tink and Gramps.” He was NYS champion for
snow sculpting several years. He loved painting. He was a member of the NNY Pool League;
Mr. Howland was a member of the Natural Bridge United Methodist
Church.
He loved the Turning Stone Casino. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He worked at Impatient Mental Health, House of the Good
Samaritan due to a disability.
Loving husband of Kimberly Howland, Deferiet; he is also survived by several
children, Mike Lafex, Rochester, Derrick Howland, Carthage, Josh Howland,
Carthage, Shawna Howland, Carthage, Cody Everard, Natural
Bridge, and Lacey Everard, Deferiet; several grandchildren;
two expecting grandchildren, baby Lafex, and baby Everard/Bigelow,
Chloe Howland, Teigin Howland, and Aubrey Porter Pierce Howland, Charlie
Howland, Christian Burke, Carter Burr, Kyra
Everard; seven brothers; Louis Howland, Richard Howland, Raymond Simmons, Craigy Simmons, Craigo Copley, Mike Hubbard, and Robert
"Buck" Hubbard; and three sisters; Keitha Howland, Sidonia Abdulghani, Fanci Copley.
He is predeceased by his wife of 29 years, Tina Howland; and two brothers; Martin Howland and Issac Simmons.
He loved people and people loved him! This man’s best friend was “Scrappy
Doo”.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the United Methodist Church in Natural Bridge, with
Fran Hemstreet, pastor, officiating and Wayne Arnold, co-officiating. Burial will take place in Sandhill Cemetery and will be held privately by the family. A reception will be held after the service at the Natural Bridge Fire Hall.
