Anthony J. Drabicki

WATERTOWN, N.Y. --   Anthony J. “Tony” Drabicki, 89, died Sunday at Samaritan Keep Home where he resided since 1999.  

He had previously resided in Hendersonville, N.C. and Clifton Springs, N.Y., and Brooklyn and Huntington, N.Y.

Mr. Drabicki retired in 1981 from his self-employment as a consulting engineer and manufacturer’s representative for Mead Industrial Equipment since 1964. Prior to that he was Vice President of GW Lisk, Inc. of Clifton Springs, New York. 

During World War II he was an engineer at Gruman Aerospace, Long Island, New York for the war defense industry.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, son of Joseph and Julia Drabicki, he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from City University of New York, and was a professional engineer.

He married Sylvia Dwojacki on July 6, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York. She died on February 26, 1997.

Tony was an avid ham radio operator up until the time of his death. He belonged to Ham Radio Clubs in Brooklyn, N.Y., Huntington, N.Y., Clifton Springs, N.Y., and Watertown, as well as Hendersonville, N.C. He communicated with people all over the world by ham radio. He was also an avid wood worker.

He and his wife were active members of the Polish American Club in Hendersonville, NC.

He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Drabicki, and her partner Larry Freer, and her daughter, Judy Drabicki, her husband, Lee Willbanks, and their two children.

There will be no calling hours.   Arrangements are with Reed and Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.
