Margery Everett, 87, Country Manor Nursing Home, Carthage, and formerly of W. Lynde Street,
Watertown, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Carthage Area Hospital.
Born Aug. 25, 1924, in Ellisburg, a daughter of Mark and Doris Goodrich
James, she was raised by her grandfather Mark James and graduated
in 1942 from Watertown High Schoo.
She married Frank B. Everett on Sept. 13, 1947, at Asbury United Methodist Church. Mr. Everett died July 10, 1977.
Mrs. Everett was a New York Telephone operator, a greeter at the Jefferson County Office Building, an aid at Cooper Street School and a nurse’s aid at Samaritan Keep Home. Mrs. Everett retired in 2005. To supplement her retirement, Mrs. Everett worked for Green Thumb for Jefferson County, a state sponsored program.
Mrs. Everett was an active member of Bethany Methodist Church in Watertown as well as a member of the Methodist Women, was an election inspector for Jefferson County and was involved with the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.
She liked to knit, crochet, and read.
Surviving are two sons, Mark, and his companion, Bruce Ashcraft, Pensacola,
Fla., and Scott and his wife, Kim, Watertown; three daughters and two sons in-law, Pamella Everett, Castorland, Peggy and Neil Todd, St. Cloud,
Fla., and Paula and James Adams, Watertown; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Patricia A. Everett, died as a young girl in 1960.
Calling hours will be 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A funeral service will be held
10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, with Rev. Bruce Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
