Irene F. Beach, 71, of
Floyd Avenue, Rome, and formerly of Lowville, died Friday
morning, Nov. 9, at Rome Memorial Hospital.
A
funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday,
November 14, 2012 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville,
with Rev. Dan Tabolt officiating. Burial will be in Beaches
Bridge Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6 - 9 p.m. on
Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at the funeral home.
Irene was born April 10, 1941, in Albion, N.Y., a daughter
of Frances Marolf Hamlin, and was adopted at the age of 18
months by Gladys and Cyrus Church, whom she called Mom and
Dad.
She graduated from Lowville Academy in 1959, and married
Amasa Larkins on Sept. 1, 1959.
Irene worked as a nurse’s aide for Carthage Area Hospital
during the 1970s until the mid-1980s. After many years, the
marriage Amasa Larkins ended in divorce. She married Louis
Simmons. He later died. She married David Beach, who passed
away shortly after their marriage.
Irene
loved crafts.
Surviving are two children, James Cyrus Larkins, Lowville,
and Vanessa Boshart, Thomson, Ga.; two sisters and a
brother-in-law, Ada Drelick, Lowville, and Shirley and
Ronald Youngs, Castorland; six grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren; an aunt, nieces, nephews and
cousins.
A daughter, Joan Louise Larkins, died shortly after birth.
