WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Marion A. Evans, 79, of 25647 Military Road, passed Saturday, Nov. 12, at Samaritan Medical Center.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown. Burial will follow in Black River Cemetery.

Calling hours will precede the service from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born April 26, 1932, in Richville, the daughter of Arnold and Alice Morrow Evans, she attended Watertown schools.

She married Howard Wetzel. The marriage ended in divorce.

Ms. Evans worked for Northland Electric for 42 years, retiring as a quality control inspector. She then worked in customer service at Hannaford’s Supermarket in Watertown up until she became ill. 

She loved horses.

Among her survivors are a son and his wife, Ronald S. and Cherryl L. Evans, Watertown; four grandchildren, (Dawn) and Ronald Mack, (Amy) and Donald Beach, Lisa Beach, (Jessica) and Timothy Gardner; six great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild.

A brother, Barton Evans, died before her.
