WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Gwendolyn N. Halstead, 97, formerly of LeRay Street, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had resided since 2005. 

Mrs. Halstead worked as a clerk at Montgomery Ward's in Batavia for 15 years. 

Born Nov. 24, 1913, in Derby, Conn., a daughter of Daniel and Gertrude Davis Pasgrove.  

Her husband Albert C. Halstead died Feb. 9, 1978.  Mrs. Halstead moved to Watertown in the early 1980s.  

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. 

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Ann Smith, Leesburg, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Marjorie Halstead, Watertown; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great great-granddaughters.

Gwendolyn was predeceased by her son, Ronald C., in 2008, and a grandson, Richard Newell, in 2010. 

There will graveside services in the spring in Attica, N.Y.
