Robert O. Bice, 81, of County Route 22, died
Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Carthage Area Hospital.
Born Oct. 13, 1930, in the town of Worth, the son of Ora and
Gladys O’Conner Bice, he attended a one room school house
in the town of Worth.
He married Shirley Davis on June 26, 1993, in Theresa.
Mr. Bice served in the Army in the late 1940s and was
honorably discharged.
He was a member of the Robert Markwich Post 798 in
Philadelphia.
Mr. Bice enjoyed hunting, scrapping metal, dancing, watching
Western movies, mud bogging and spending time with his
family.
Surviving besides his wife are four sons and two
daughters-in-law, Jeff and Dawn, N.C., Steven, Texas, Joe,
Utica and David and Mary, Philadelphia; a daughter and her
husband, Debbie and Frank Marshall, Antwerp; a stepdaughter,
Laurie Roe, Philadelphia; three brothers, Jim and John, both
town of Worth and Richard, Adams; five sisters, Marguirite
“Maggie” Brown, Fla., Sandy Piddock, town of Worth,
Betty Robbins, Watertown, June Bice, town of Worth, and
Jenny Carr, Glen Park; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Dan, died before him.
A memorial gathering will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22,
at the Theresa Fire Hall.
