Retired dairy farmer, Melvin R. Klock, 86, of
Buttermilk Flat Road, devoted husband, beloved father and
cherished grandfather passed away Friday, Nov. 18, at
Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, after a brief stay.
Born Dec. 29, 1924, in the town of Orleans, a son of Lionel
and Lottie Babcock Klock, he attended school in Belleville.
He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II,
and was honorably discharged. While in the Army, he
was stationed in India.
He married Ellen Clark of LaFargeville on Aug. 27, 1949, at
the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Orleans Four Corners.
Mr. Klock was a life member of the Klock Smith American
Legion Post 1788 in LaFargeville, Eastern Milk Producers,
serving as president, founder and past president of United
North Country Bargaining Coop, ARMPPA, and member of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Orleans Four Corners and
church council for 48 years.
Surviving besides his wife, Ellen are a son and his wife,
Lee and Janet, LaFargeville, a daughter and her husband,
Gail and Kim Hubbard, LaFargeville; three grandchildren,
Kyle Hubbard, Colton Klock and Kendall Klock, all of
LaFargeville; a brother, Francis, North Syracuse and a
brother-in-law, Dennis Gibbs, Fla.
A sister, Marie Gibbs, and two brothers, Joseph and Robert.
all died before him.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at the
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Orleans Four Corners with
Pastor David Windle officiating. Burial will be at Grove
Cemetery, LaFargeville.
Calling hours are 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Frederick
Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Evangelical
Lutheran Church of Orleans Four Corners Memorial Fund.
