— Doris H. Feickert, 85, Grandview Courts, West Carthage, and formerly of Great Bend, died
Saturday afternoon, Nov. 19, in the Country Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carthage.
Born Dec. 4, 1925, in
Theresa, the daughter of Lorenzo Dow and Georgia Grant
Honeywell, she was a graduate of the Antwerp High School and
the Watertown School of Commerce.
She married Peter Alan Feickert on May 22, 1947, at the
family’s home in Antwerp.
Doris worked at the bank in Antwerp before her and her
husband owned and operated the Pine View Motel in Great Bend
for many years. Mr. Feickert died Jan. 6, 2005.
Mrs. Feickert was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star
and was active in the Episcopal Church in Antwerp.
Surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Mrs.
Warren (Mary F.) Palmer, Evans Mills, Mrs. Robert (Edie
Feickert) Peck, Great Bend, and Mrs. Bernie (Kris F.)
McDermott, Greene; a son and his wife, Peter D. Feickert and
Leslie Clark, Canton; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren;
and nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Norman and Gerald Honeywell, and a nephew,
Larry Honeywell, died previously.
Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at
Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage, with Rev. Edward
Murphy of Grace Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be
in Antwerp Cemetery at the family’s convenience. A calling
hour will precede the service from 3 to 4 p.m.
