Dorothy A. Rust, 81, of Chaumont, died Tuesday,
Nov. 22, at Carthage Area Hospital, Skilled Nursing Unit
where she had been a resident since April 2010.
Born April 11, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of
Elmer and Yetta Eason McAnney, she graduated from Wooster, Ohio,
schools and attended Ohio State College.
She married Walter Rust on Aug. 23, 1952, at the Naval Base
in Philadelphia, Pa. Mr. Rust died Feb. 16, 1987.
Mrs. Rust enlisted in the Navy in 1950 serving in the nursing
and medical department until 1953.
Surviving her are four sons and two daughters-in-law,
Jeffery, Tunica, Miss., Stephen and Valerie, Chaumont,
Michael, William and Jennifer, all of Dexter; five Daughters
and their husbands, Deborah and Brian Cuppernell, Chaumont,
Kathleen and Timothy Callahan, Liberty, S.C., Cynthia and
Charles Ransear, Murrells Inlet, S.C., Amy and Daniel
Litteer, Easley, S.C., and Mary and Daniel O’kay,
Lugolff, S.C.; 27 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Raymond McAnaney, and a sister Mildred Totten,
both died before her.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at
Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont, NY.
