Beverly J. Clearo

HARRISVILLE, N.Y.  —  Beverly J. Clearo, 87, died Friday, Nov. 25, at the Skilled Nursing Facility of the Carthage Area Hospital, where she had been a resident since 2008. 

Born Oct. 13, 1929, in Watertown, the daughter of Roy L. Crandall and Adelia Crandall, she attended Watertown schools.  

She married Francis J. Clearo on May 15, 1948, in Norfolk, Va. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years on Dec. 5, 2010. 

Beverly worked at various jobs during her life but her favorite job and the most important to her was that of mother to her five children.  

Surviving are five children, Cheryl L. Maitlen (Gene), Mount Laurel, N.J,; Douglas J. Clearo, Florida; Francis "Joe" Clearo, Jr., Watertown, Mary C. North (David), Irmo, S.C., and Thomas J. Clearo (Theresa), Riverview, Fla.; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a sister, Shirley Mikesell, Florida.  

She was predeceased by her brothers, John Crandall in 1974 and Robert Crandall in 2005. 

Mrs. Clearo has generously donated her body to the College of Medicine, Central New York Body Donation Program for the purpose of medical education and research. 

Her children ask that any donations be made in her memory to the Carthage Area Hospital, 1001 West Street, Carthage, NY 13619. 

A celebration of her life will be held by her children in the spring of 2012 for family and friends.
