Leonard
E. McCallops, 82, formerly of Route 11, died Monday,
Nov. 26, at Rivesledge United Helpers Nursing Home, town of
Oswegatchie.
Born April
2, 1930 in Gouverner, NY, he was the son of Royal E. and
Doris M. McCauley McCallops, and attended Watertown High
School.
Mr. McCallops was an active member of the National Guard,
working as a mechanic and guard and had his own mechanic
business in Philadelphia. He was a member of the Robert
Markwick American Legion Post # 798, Philadelphia.
He married Dorothy Chavoustie of Redwood. Mrs. McCallops
died before him.
Mr. McCallops enjoyed stock car races.
Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nancy
and Vernon LaFave, Philadelphia, and Ellen Crouch, Antwerp;
nieces and nephews.
Interment at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Antwerp,
will be at a later date.
Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa.
