Eileen L. Cataldo

LYONS FALLS, N.Y.  ó  Eileen L. Cataldo, 88, formerly of Lyons Falls, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 28, at the Masonic Care Community, Utica.

A funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at St. Johnís Catholic Church, Lyons Falls with Rev. Lawrence Marullo, pastor, officiating. Spring burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden. There will be no calling hours. 

Arrangements are with the Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.

Born Dec. 13, 1923, in Philadelphia, N.Y., a daughter of John H. and Angeline Bourgeois Cataldo, she graduated in 1944 from St. Lukeís School of Nursing. 

She was a longtime registered nurse, working 30 years for Dr. Ford Truax, Utica, until his death. She then was employed by Oneida County Social Services for 20 years.

Miss Cataldo was a communicant of Annunciation Church of Clark Mills, and a former member of St. Johnís Catholic Church, Lyons Falls. She was an active member of St. Lukeís Alumni Association, the Lucy Kellogg Society, a Life Member of Constable Hall Association, Constableville, and a Life Member of Lewis County Historical Society, Lowville.

She enjoyed music, and growing up, she played piano. She played cornet in her family band, Lyons Falls High School Band, and Lyons Falls Village Band under the direction of her father, the late John H. Cataldo. 

She enjoyed crafts, flea markets, and antique shows.

Surviving are four brothers and sisters-in-law, J. Charles and Mary Cataldo, Cape Cod, Mass., and Marco Island, Fla., Robert J. and Helen Cataldo, Lyons Falls, George N. and Terry Cataldo, Glenfield, and F. Edward and Mary Lou Cataldo, Lowville; and many nieces and nephews. 

Her parents, a brother, Francis H. Cataldo, and a sister, Marie A. Meda, all died before her.
