Samuel
V. Carollo, 64, of Market Street, passed away early
Thursday morning, Nov. 29, at home.
Mr. Carollo was diagnosed with a terminal illness and was
under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County and his loving
wife, Sally Carollo.
Sam and Sally were united in marriage on Aug. 22, 1992.
Mr. Carollo ad retired from the Cape Vincent Correctional
Facility as a vocational instructor for the Horticultural
Department.
His love for gardening was evident by the home Sam and Sally
shared.
The couple also enjoyed the canning of their hot peppers
(“SAL-T-SAMS”).
Surviving are his wife Sally, Cape Vincent; three sons,
Robert and Ronald, both of Rome, N.Y., and Samuel, Texas;
two step sons, Steven Mothersell, Kingston, Ontario, Canada,
and SMS Willie Mothersell, Eagle River, Alaska; and a
brother, Joseph F. Carollo III, Rome, N.Y.
In a joint decision, Sam and Sally have chosen not to have
any services at this time.
Sam and Sally would like to say thank you to their wonderful
family and terrific friends along with the Medical Staff of
Hospice. They know that these last few months of support
from everyone involved has been an amazing blessing.
