— Beatrice
Evereth, 88, of Henry Keep Apartments, died Monday
afternoon, Nov. 28, in Watertown.|
Born Sept. 18, 1923, in West Martinsburg, the daughter of
the late Ray and Irene Pelo Kline, she was a 1940 graduate
of Lowville Academy and the Samaritan Nursing School in
1943.
She married Michael P. Evereth on Oct. 19, 1974, at St.
Patrick’s Church in Watertown, Rev. Peter Berg officiated.
Mr. Evereth, a local artist and sign painter, died Aug. 5,
1996.
Beatrice was a registered nurse and worked at the House of
the Good Samaritan, Jefferson County Department of Social
Services, Anesthesia Associates of NNY and doctors Wendell
D. George, H. Louis George, Warren W. Daub and James L.
Crossley, retiring from nursing in 1985.
Bea was a tireless volunteer and received the Helen Blaine
Award in 2005 for outstanding volunteerism. She worked with
Hospice of Jefferson County, American Legion Auxiliary,
Precious Blood Monastery, Samaritan Medical Center, Knights
of Columbus Auxiliary and as a member of St. Patrick's
Church she was a lector and greeter.
She was a former member of the Willowbrook and Watertown
Golf Clubs.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Sheryl and Richard
Gamble, Carthage; two step daughters, Theresa Taylor,
Aurora, Ohio, and Nancy Powell, Burlington, N.C.; a step
son, Michael J. Evereth, Latham; two grandsons, Steven
(Donna) and Jeffery Gamble, 10 step grandchildren, four
great-grandchildren, many step great grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
Four brothers, Leo, Bernard, Richard and Gilbert Kline and
two sisters, Grovena Kaban and Elizabeth Sims, all died
before her.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, in
St. James Catholic Church, Carthage with the Rev’s George
F. Maroun and Rev. Donald A. Robinson officiating. Burial
will be in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours will be 3 to 6
p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home,
Carthage.

County or the Precious Blood Monastery, Watertown.
