Joseph D. Mack

CALCIUM, N.Y.  —  Joseph D. Mack, 18, of 27232 Route 342, passed Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Upstate Hospital following injuries sustained from an accident Monday on Route 342 in the town of LeRay. 

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Bruce Funeral Home, Black River. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home.

He was born Aug. 27, 1993, in Watertown, son of Joseph W. Mack Jr. and Cynthia M. Stephens.

Joseph was senior at Indian River High School, attending the building maintenance program through the Jefferson-Lewis Board of Cooperative Educational Services.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family. 

He also participated in the Youth Advocate Program in Watertown for several years.

Among his survivors are his father and his companion, Joseph W. Mack Jr. and Carrie E. Lago, Calcium; his mother and her companion, Cynthia M. Hutchins and Shawn Galloway, Black River; his girlfriend, Christine Denner, Plessis; his paternal grandmother, Roseann Mack, Town of Rutland; maternal grandmother, Shirley Stephens, Watertown; maternal grandfather, David Stephens, Adams; half brother, Devon D. Hutchins, Black River; half sister, Roseann Mack, Calcium; two stepsisters, Samantha L. Furrh, Calcium, Angie L. Carter, Calcium; a niece, Alexa Carter; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
