Marie R. Stenoski

CARTHAGE, N.Y.  —  Marie R. Stenoski, 46, of 811 Alexandria St., died Thursday morning, Nov. 29, at her residence where she was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Born Jan. 27, 1966, in Carthage, the daughter of George and Sharon Gokey Schermerhorn, she graduated in 1984 from Carthage Central High School. 

She married Robert W. Stenoski on Oct. 5, 1991, in Champion. 

For several years she was the assistant manager for the Urban Mission in Watertown. Recently she worked at Dollar General in Carthage.

Surviving are her husband, Robert W., Carthage; two daughters, Aarika Borisevic, Fort Drum, and Brooke Shafer, Texas; a son, Nicholas Stenoski, Carthage; three grandsons, Carson and Hudson Borisevic and Maddox Brimeyer; a granddaughter, Quinn Borisevic; her parents, George and Sharon Schermerhorn, Carthage; a sister: Georgie O'Shaughnessy, Carthage; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

A sister, Jane Schermerhorn, died before her.

In keeping with Marie’s wishes, there will be a celebration of her life 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the American Legion in Carthage. The body will be cremated.
