William M. Tupper

HARRISVILLE, N.Y.  —  William M. Tupper, 74, of 8067 Washington St., died Friday afternoon, Nov. 30, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, where he had been a patient for several days.

He was born Sept. 12, 1938, in Pierrepont, N.Y., the son of Roswell and Edith Spicer Tupper. 

He married Linda O’Donnell on June 30, 1960. 

Mr. Tupper served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963.

He was employed by St. Joseph’s Mining Co. from 1962 until his retirement in 1992. 

Mr. Tupper enjoyed hunting, gardening, canning and the time he spent with his family and friends.

Besides his wife, Linda, he is survived by his children, Sarita Tupper and her companion, David Olley, Susan and her companion, Jody Thomas, and Joseph Tupper and his wife, Vicky; his siblings; Floyd and Patricia Cameron, Cleveland, N.Y., Laura Washburn, Oklahoma, Carol Elliott, Macomb, Betty Elliott, Macomb, Harold “Richard” & Debra Tupper, Gouverneur and Margaret Johnson, Hermon; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Bernard“Ike” Tupper and a niece, Tonya Jane Elliott.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery, Natural Bridge. Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home.
