HENDERSON, N.Y.  —  Darcy E. Stockwell, 85, Harborview Apts., passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with Pastor Jane Eastham from the Henderson United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

Born Aug. 2, 1927, a daughter to Frederick and Winifred Harber Ellis, she graduated from Union Academy Belleville. 

Darcy worked for many years at Belloff’s Department Store, the Freeway Market, Adams, was a bookkeeper at Herron’s Farm Supply in Belleville and at the Belleville Market until her retirement.

She attended the Henderson United Methodist Church and the Henderson Supper Club at the church. 

She married Frederick C. Stockwell on April 18, 1946, in Adams. Mr. Stockwell passed away March 20, 1999.

Surviving are three sons and their wives, James F. (Betty), Ellisburg, Stephen R. (Rockett), Mannsville, and Jeffrey H. (Starr), Belleville; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Dominic) Spano, Watertown; 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard (Nancy) Abbott, Belleville; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by a brother Jack F. Abbott on June 17, 2010, and a sister, Shirley, in infancy.
