Richard H. Brimmer Sr.

DEXTER, N.Y.    Richard H. Brimmer Sr., 76, of Breezy Knoll Trailer Park, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 2, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice.

Born Feb. 28, 1935, in Watertown, the son of Howard and Grace Covey Brimmer, he attended school in Watertown  and served in the Army National Guard  from 1955 until 1962 with 208th Armor and was discharged as Specialist Fifth Class in 1962.

He married Maureen F. Robbins on June 17, 1961, in Dexter.  

Mr. Brimmer was a truck driver working for Nortz and Missert Companies and retired from Pepsi Bottling Co. in Watertown.

He was a life member of the Dexter American Legion Smith Savage Post where he served as commander several times, Lil Angels Snowmobile Club of Dexter.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR.

Surviving are his wife, Maureen; children, Richard Jr., Dexter, Ronald and Cindy Brimmer, Watertown, and Teri Brimmer, Glen Park; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Donald Brimmer, David and Lyola O'Reilly, Eva Scovel, and Francis and Nancy Brimmer.  

A brother, Albert, died before him.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter, with Rev. Patricia Walz of Dexter United Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m.. Wednesday, Dec. 7.
