Winifred O. Christiansen, 93, of Hilltop Road, died
Wednesday morning, Dec. 7, at the Lewis County Residential
Healthcare Facility, where she has resided since Nov. 29.
The funeral will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Iseneker
Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville, with
Ministers of the Apostolic Christian Church of America,
Croghan, officiating. Burial will follow in Apostolic
Christian Church Cemetery. Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 1
p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Born Sept. 1, 1918, in Beaver Falls, a daughter of Chester
and Catherine Farney O’Brien, she graduated in 1936 from
Lowville Academy, and from Watertown School of Commerce.
She married Charles R. Christiansen on June 23, 1962, at the
bride’s parents’ home in Beaver Falls. She worked as the
secretary to the general manager of Boise Cascade in Beaver
Falls for several years, retiring in 1982. Mr. Christiansen
died Dec. 28, 2009.
Mrs. Christiansen enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Surviving are a step-daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and
Harold Lindsay, Fredericksburg, Va.; three
step-grandchildren, Christopher and Kim Lindsay, Partlow, Va.,
and their sons, Matthew and Tyler, John Lindsay, Alexandria,
Va., Pamela Lindsay, Arlington, Va.; nieces, a nephew and
several cousins; and her special friends, Tim and Renee
Roggie.
She is predeceased by her husband, Charles, and her parents.
