— Jack
A. Strader, 57, of Dexter, passed away Saturday morning at
Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Born April 24, 1954, in Watertown, the son of Jack and
Shirley Derrick Strader, he graduated from General Brown
High School and served in the Army from 1972 until 1975.
He was a diesel mechanic and worked for Rick Wilcox, Beam
Mack and L.S.I. in Watertown until becoming disabled.
He was a member of Smith-Savage Post 583 of Dexter. He
enjoyed outdoor activities until he became disabled.
He was very fond of socializing with his life-long friends
in Dexter.
Surviving are his wife, Diane L. Williams Strader, Chaumont;
children: Candace Archer, Fla., Shanon Ketzenberg,
Watertown, Sara Strader, Chaumont, Derrick Strader,
Chaumont, stepdaughter, Stacey Typhair and her husband
Stanley, Depauville; step grandchildren, Trevor and Taylor
Typhair; parents Jack Strader, Adams, Shirley Strader,
Dexter; a brother and his wife, Mark and Linda Strader,
Adams; sisters Mrs. Daniel Lori Dumas of Syracuse and Teri
Strader, Dexter; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be
held 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Johnson Funeral Home,
Dexter, with his brother Rev. Mark Strader officiating. The
body will be cremated. Calling hours will be from 4 to
7 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
