Mary E. Lawrence Bishop

CLAYTON, N.Y.  —  Mary E. Lawrence Bishop, 75, Strawberry Lane, passed away Tuesday morning, December 13, 2011, at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown.

The funeral Mass will be said 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at St. Mary's Church, Clayton, with Rev. Arthur LaBaff officiating with burial following in Depauville Cemetery. 

Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton.

Born May 8, 1936, in Watertown, daughter of Edwin A. and Edna Mae Bishop Lawrence, she attended St. Mary's Elementary School and graduated from Cape Vincent High School.

She married Donald R. Bishop on Oct. 5, 1957, at St. Vincent dePaul Church, Rosiere. He dief Aug. 15, 1992.

For thirteen years, she worked as a packer for Johnstown Knitting Mill, and retired from graphic controls as a stamper after twenty years. 

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. 

She enjoyed playing cards, putting puzzles together, and Bingo.

Surviving are five siblings, Grace A. and James Brancato, Oswego, Thomas P. and Judith Lawrence, LaFargeville, Larry L. and Billie Lawrence, Omar, Frances M. and John Seymour, Black River, and Edwin J. and Micki Lawrence, LaFargeville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Besides her husband, Donald, she was predeceased by her brother, James S. Lawrence, March 12, 2009, and her sister, Theresa A. Seymour, Nov. 28, 1999.
