Donald A.
Burns, 62, of Irish Avenue, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12,
at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Born on June 17, 1950, son of the late Fred and Freida
Tibbles Burns, he attended Hammond School.
He entered the Army in March 1970 and was honorably
discharged in 1971.
Mr. Burns worked for Lanphear Lumber, Ostrander Farms and
Lake’s Trailer Park retiring in 1994.
He married Jeanie Fleming on July 25, 1970, in Rossie, N.Y.
He enjoyed his family and his
beloved dog “Pudge”, gardening, puzzles and canning.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanie; two sons, Kevin, and his
companion, Pam Matthie of Parish, Kenneth and soul mate,
Edward Burns of Philadelphia; two daughters, Kris and her
companion, Gerald Lacey, Philadelphia, Karen and her
companion, Kenneth Metcalf of Macomb; ten grandchildren;
three great grandchildren; one step granddaughter; one step
great granddaughter; four brothers and two sisters-in-law,
William & Lois, Charles, Douglas & Michelle, and
Ricky; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mayfred Vann,
Martha & James Bartlett.
A grandson, James Albert, and three sisters, Julia
“Tootie” Stevenson, Edna Martin and Frances Finley, all
died before him.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at
Frederick Bros Funeral Home, Theresa There will be a
gathering at the Philadelphia Fire Hall immediately
following.
