WATERTOWN, N.Y. —
Helen C. Hall, 88, widow of Oral Hall, passed away Wednesday,
Dec. 14, at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had
been a resident since 2010.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Reed &
Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Van Wie, pastor of Asbury
United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in
Grove Cemetery, LaFargeville. A calling hour will precede
the funeral 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Born Sept. 2, 1923, in Syracuse, a daughter of Thomas and
Florence Green Teepell, she was a 1941 graduate of Phoenix
High School and a 1945 Plattsburg State Teachers College
graduate. She furthered her studies at St. Lawrence
University, Potsdam State and Syracuse University.
Mrs. Hall taught home economics at LaFargeville Central
School and Clayton Central School. Helen was the librarian
at the Orleans Public Library.
She was a Brownie leader and a former member of the
LaFargeville United Methodist Church and was active in many
church activities and functions.
Helen married Oral Hall on July 31, 1948, at the Phoenix
Baptist Church. Mr. Hall passed away Dec. 17, 1988.
Mrs. Hall moved to College Height Apartments in 1988,
Centennial Apartments in October 2005 and then to the
Samaritan Keep Home in 2010.
Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Kathryn and
Richard Poulsen, Watertown, and Mary Ellen and Kevin
Osborne, Gales Ferry, Conn.; a granddaughter, Kara Manzelli,
Marlborough, Mass.; a grandson, Mark Osborne, Brooklyn, N.Y.;
a sister, Dorothy Stone, Fultonl everal nieces and nephews.
A brother, George Teepell, died before her.
