— Eleanor
U. Moran, 92, of 22892 County Route 42, died Saturday
afternoon, Dec. 15, at the Country Manor Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center where she has resided since June.
Mrs.
Moran was born in New Bremen on July 11, 1920, the daughter
of the late and former Lewis County Clerk, Peter J. and the
Anna Hunziker Ulrich. She was a 1937 graduate of Lowville
Academy and 1940 graduate of C.C.B.I. in Syracuse.
She married Miller Fay Moran on Aug. 19, 1944, at the
Baptist Church in Lowville with the Rev. William Sawin
officiating. Mr. Moran, an attorney for many years in
Carthage died Sept. 21, 2008. For many years the couple
lived at 802 State St. in Carthage.
Eleanor enjoyed bowling in her younger years and playing
cards.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carthage,
Order of the Eastern Star and a former member of the
Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law: Susan and James
Cervini, Carthage; three grandchildren, Anne Abel of
Jamesville, Virginia Forney and Matthew Cervini, both of
Carthage; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law,
Katherine Ulrich, Lowville; and nieces and nephews.
A brother, Floyd Ulrich, and four sisters, Mildred Nortz,
Arletha Kilpatrick, Pauline Millard and Maxine Roberts, all
died before her.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.
18, at Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert
Barone, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery. There will be a
calling hour preceding the funeral service from noon to 1 p.m.
Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist
Church of Carthage.
