Leona M. Robbins,
92, of Game Farm Road, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 14,
at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of
Jefferson County.
Born
Oct. 19, 1920, in Philadelphia, N.Y., the daughter of
Wallace and Frances Myers Fleming, she attended school in
Antwerp and graduated from Dexter High School.
She married Lawrence J. Robbins on November 11, 1938 in
Sackets Harbor.
The couple owned and operated a farm on Massey St. Road
until 1946 when they moved to their present farm in Dexter.
Lawrence passed away Oct. 14, 1996.
She enjoyed bingo, family events, Dexter HamJam,
Lafargeville Blue Grass Nights.
Surviving are her children, Marilyn
and Dennis Regan, Avon, N.Y., Marlene Dunaway, Dexter,
Maureen Brimmer, Dexter, James and Beverly Robbins, Dexter,
Janet and Donald Wager, Tuscarora, N.Y., Gerry Robbins,
Dexter, Terry Robbins, Dexter, and Rosemary Robbins,
Watertown; 24 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and
seven great great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald and Dawn
Fleming, Port Orange, Fla.; a sister, Marjorie Augustine,
Watertown; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at
Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter, with Rev. Patricia Walz of
Dexter United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday,
Dec. 17.
Donations may be made to Dexter Fire Department.
