— Elllen
E. Busto, 87, 147 Smith St., Watertown, passed away at her
daughter's, Marlene Kirch's, home on Pillar Point on Sunday,
Dec. 16, surrounded by her loving family and Hospice of
Jefferson County.
Calling hours will be held 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec.
19, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown, with the
funeral service following at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery.
Born March 15, 1925, in Gouverneur, a daughter of Robert and
Elizabeth McManus Macaulay, she graduated from Morristown
High School and had attended hairdressing school in
Watertown.
She married Manuel J. "Chub" Busto on Jan. 25,
1947. He died July 25, 1990.
Ellen was a homemaker and a foster mother. She had also
worked for Cheeseborough Ponds, which became Faichneys, in
Watertown. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, crocheting,
sewing, and especially her dog, Charlie.
Surviving are a son, Daniel Busto, Watertown; three
daughters, Bonnie and Mark Hall, E.Amherst, Marlene and
David Kirch, Pillar Point, and Susan Dorame, Watertown; a
son-in-law, Art Thompson, Oswego; 13 grandchildren, numerous
great-grandchildren and a great great-grandson; three
sisters, Edna Gates, Hailsboro, Jessie Smithers, Watertown,
and Annabette and Leland Brown, Rochester; a brother-in-law,
Phillip Parish, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter,
Patricia Thompson, September 23, 2000, her two brothers,
Edward and George Macaulay, her sister, Aleta Parish, and
her brother-in-law, Clifford Gates.
