Tammy
E. Hand, 52, of Main
Street, passed away Friday, Dec. 14.
Born Jan. 30, 1960, in Canandaigua, a daughter of Charles
and Dorothy Jones Voorhees, she graduated in 1978 from
Bloomfield Central High School. After high school she
attended Houghton College, transferring to St. Lawrence
University and graduating in 1982.
She married Robert D. Hand on June 26, 1982, in Palmyra, N.Y.
He passed away Feb. 12, 2011.
Mrs. Hand was a chemistry teacher at Bellville Henderson
High School, a bus driver for Freeman Bus Corp, and owner of
River Rat Tug and Barge, LLC, since 2011.
Survivors include a son, Logan, Antwerp; two sisters and
their husbands, Linda and William Machonis and Kathleen and
Hank Raney; two brothers and a sister-in-law, James G. and
Elizabeth Voorhees, and Todd Voorhees.
Her parents died before her.
She was a member of the Antwerp Board of Assessments.
A
memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at
Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, with Rev Dan Klebes,
pastor of the Indian River Baptist Church, officiating.
Calling
hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, prior to
the funeral.
