— Charles
F. Lamon, 81, of Brainard Street, passed away Thursday
afternoon, Dec. 15, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Charles was born December 1,
1930 at home in Dexter the son of Ralph and Oleta Chavoustie
Lamon, he graduated in 1948 from Dexter High School, and
later from St. Lawrence College Center in Watertown. He also
served in the Army from 1951 through 1953 in Korea.
He married Barbara E. Loftus
on Sept. 6, 1953, at St. Patrick's Church of Watertown. The
couple lived in Dexter all their married lives.
Charles was a beer wholesaler
owning Best Distributing until he retired in 2001.
He was a member of
Smith-Savage Post 583 American Legion, VFW of Watertown, 50
year member of Dexter Fire Dept., 28 years Elk Club of
Watertown, Life member of K. of C., Immaculate Conception
Church and former member of Eagles Club.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going to
casinos, playing cards, and an avid fan of Yankees, Syracuse
and General Brown basketball.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara; three children, Cynthia L.
Lamon, Carol A. Lamon, and Charles F. Lamon 2nd and his wife,
Michelle all of Dexter; two grandchildren, Ryan and
Mackenzie Lamon, Dexter.
A sister, Margaret A. Lamon, died in 1988.
A funeral Mass will be
said 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Immaculate Conception
Church of Brownville with Fr. Kevin O'Brien officiating.
Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4
to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 18, at Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
