HENDERSON, N.Y. — Marcia
H. Fulkerson Scartelli, 72, of Dunmore, Pa., and formerly of
Henderson, N.Y., died Thursday, Dec. 15, at the
Hospice Unit of the Regional Hospital of Scranton, Pa.,
following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Marcia is survived by her husband of 18 years, Robert W.
Scartelli, Dunmore, Pa.
Born Dec. 6, 1939, in
Watertown, the daughter of the late Sidney and Dorothy
Thomas Hess, she graduated in 1957 from Henderson Central
School.
She served as the attendance clerk for the South Jefferson
Central School District, Adams, N.Y., for 20 years, where she
loved being a part of the lives of so many students. Marcia
also worked in the restaurant industry throughout her life.
She was employed by the Gill House Restaurant, Westview
Lodge in Henderson Harbor for many years.
After moving to Pa. in 1994, she was employed by Stirna's
Restaurant, Scranton, Pa., until her retirement last year.
Marcia was an avid bowler. She also loved to travel, dance,
and spend time with her family and friends.
She was a member of the Henderson Methodist Church,
Henderson. After moving to Pa., Marcia became a
communicant of Saint Peter's Cathedral, Scranton, where she
was an active member and volunteer, proudly serving as an
usher.
Also surviving are four
children, Thomas Fulkerson, Adams, Karen Peebles and husband,
John, Adams, Robin McDermott and husband, Brian, Watertown,
and Christina Kuchak and husband Jack, Moosic; nine
grandchildren, T.R., Katie, Tara, Todd, Kirk, Aaron, Ashley,
Morgan, and Brady; two great-grandchildren, Jude and Reese;
two sisters, Nancy Quirk, and husband, Francis, Fulton, and
Mary Jones and husband, Bernie, Copenhagen; and several
nieces, nephews, and cousins; a daughter-in-law, Kimberly
Fulkerson Jareo, Belleville.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert W.
Fulkerson
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Saint
Peter's Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, Pa.
Graveside services
will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, in Woodside Cemetery,
Belleville, N.Y.
Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday,
Dec. 18, at the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green
Ridge St., Dunmore, Pa., and 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20,
at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, 7883 NYS Rt 289,
Belleville, N.Y.
