Gerald Lyle Adner, 77, died Friday, Dec. 16, at home peacefully under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County and his family.
Born Oct. 1, 1934, in North Wilna, the son of Melvin Eugene and Lena Bray
Adner, he attended rural school in the town of Wilna.
Mr. Adner was a construction worker/owner-operator truck
driver for 45 years.
He married Marian L. Page in Elpaso, Texas. Marian died Feb. 24, 2004.
He was a member of the Natural Bridge United Methodist
Church, the Carthage Elks Lodge BPOE #1762, Black River Valley
Fiddlers, and the Country Stomper.
He had many hobbies including hunting, playing guitar, carpentry, making bird houses, and lawn ornaments.
He loved spending his winters in Brooksville, Fla.
Surviving are his companion, Eleanor Sullivan; three
step-sons, Charles and Nancy Williamson, Brooksville, Fla., Gary and
Therese Williamson, Natural Bridge, and Wayne Newton, Carthage; and 19
nieces and nephews.
His siblings, Myrtle Teiseira, Angeline Mauth, Eugenia Lannis, Geraldine Lavancha, Melvin Page, and Harry
Page, al died before him.
Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc.,
500 State St., Carthage. A funeral service will be held 7
p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Funeral Home with The Reverend Frances
Hemstreet officiating.
Burial will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, in Hillside Cemetery in Natural Bridge. The time will be determined at a later date.
Donations in his memory can be made to the Hospice of Jefferson County.
