WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Richard L. "Dickie" Dasno Jr., 51, of Binsse Street, died Friday, Dec. 14, at Samaritan Medical Center after being stricken at his home. 

Mr. Dasno was born Oct. 14, 1961, in Watertown, the son of the late Richard L. Dasno Sr. and Patricia A. Morin. 

He married Brenda Backhaus on May 12, 1984, in Watertown. 

Richard lived and worked in the community, with the last ten years at Fort Drum until he retired due to illness.

Mr. Dasno loved camping, fishing, working on cars and Star Trek, but most of all spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Brenda, two sons, Timothy and Richard, both of Watertown. Four siblings Catherine M. Dasno, NC, Michele E. (Angelo) Augustine, Watertown, Roswell F. (Sherry) Dasno, Gouverneur and Melissa A. (Dale) Burr, NC, his step mother Alice Dasno, Watertown, three step brothers. Earl Jr., Chris and Mark Sykes all of Watertown. Two step sisters Vikki (Claude) Giles, Watertown, Patricia (Timothy) Farrell, Evans Mills, mother in law Norma Backhaus, Watertown, a sister in law Bonnie Ingalls, Sackets Harbor, four brothers in law, David, John, Matt and J'me Decker, La.; and several nieces, nephews great nieces and great nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, maternal grandparents, Charles and Helen Morin, his paternal grandparents, Roswell F. and Blanche (Rivers) Dasno, two step brothers, Frederick Sykes, Raymond Sykes, and a step sister, Debra Fain.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services or calling hours. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date at the convenience of the family.

Richard was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
