Lewis R.
Spencer, 64, Antwerp, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 17,
at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Born July 12, 1948, in Cape Vincent, the son of Reginald and
Mildred Carter Spencer, he attended school in Cape Vincent
and graduated from General Brown High School.
Lewis
worked for VanTassel Moving and Storage until he became
disabled.
He married Laura L. Jobson on Aug. 14, 1993, in Watertown.
The couple lived in Watertown, Philadelphia and
recently moved to Antwerp.
He was an avid NASCAR fan.
Surviving are his wife, Laura; his children: Vicki Spencer,
address unknown, Gregory Spencer, Nevada, Angela Spencer,
Watertown, Preston Spencer, Adams, and Tia Spencer,
Watertown; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren;
brothers and sisters, Anna
Grossnickel, Parish, Grant Spencer, Florida, Linda Stitt,
Webster, Richard Spencer, Parish, Robert Gamble, Altmire,
and Larry Spencer, Dexter.
A son, Lewis Spencer the 2nd, and four brothers,
Ronald Spencer, James Spencer, Daniel Spencer and Roy Gamble,
all died before him.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Johnson
Funeral Home, Dexter, with Rev. Gail Parsons officiating.
Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Friday prior to the
service.
